LOUISVILLE, Ky.

– Kentucky’s Alex Johnson and Louisville’s Michael Biederman will compete in the starting lineup for the 2017 NCAA Division I men’s basketball championship, Kentucky’s head coach Matt Stainbrook announced Wednesday.

“The addition of Alex and Michael to our basketball team for 2017 will make our team a top contender in the NCAA,” Stainbrook said.

“I look forward to working with them and playing with them on a daily basis as we prepare for the NCAA Tournament.”

Johnson and Blackmon both are eligible for the 2018 NBA Draft.

The Blue Jays were not expected to announce their starting lineup until Thursday morning, but a source told ESPN’s Brett McMurphy that Johnson would be starting over the injured Josh Jackson in that position.

After finishing with a 14-2 record in 2017-18, the Jays had the most losses in the conference by far, losing 10 of their final 11 games to end the season.
