Tech school graduates are making better money than their counterparts in the general population, according to a report from a national research firm.
In 2014, the average tech graduate earned $51,000 per year, according the National Association of Technical Education.
A majority of those with a degree from a technical school are women, who have an average pay of $59,000, according TOEFL, a certification organization.
The report says tech graduates make better wage than their male counterparts in every age group, except for those ages 25 to 54.
About half of the tech graduates were working in technology roles at the time of the survey.
Tech is also gaining ground in areas like finance, technology, and marketing.
This year, about one in 10 tech graduates are looking for jobs in the healthcare industry, according an online survey.
